IT Engineer II - Northwestern Medical Center (Saint Albans, VT) in Plattsburgh, New York For Sale
The Engineer II should have a general understanding of electronic medical records (EMRs) as they will be responsible to develop and maintain HL7 interfaces for multiple systems the medical center supports. Position will also be responsible for the SharePoint environment that will include a content management system, electronic forms creation and maintenance as well as support and training on the SharePoint environment. Other duties will include and enterprise wide electronic routing and faxing system as well as VOIP setup, troubleshooting and installation.
This position will also have secondary responsibilities to monitor and configure Active Directory, Exchange and IIS environments. Manage group policy and configure enterprise data protection systems in support of hospital security policy. Monitor network performance and conduct necessary maintenance to support network reliability, robustness and security. Works with existing team members to evaluate and make recommendations for network, storage and bandwidth capacity planning. Maintain local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems. Maintain network hardware and software to include voice (VOIP), wired and wireless switches, routers and controllers. Manage Citrix and VMWare hardware virtualization environments. Designs, implement, monitor and test back-up and disaster recovery solutions to include SAN and NAS environments.
Education: Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Information Technology or Management Information Systems required.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years Information Technology systems management experience preferred. Experience in Healthcare IT desirable. Systems Security, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Citrix experience favorable.
Special Skills / Other: CCNP, CCNA, CCSP, CPHIMS certification preferred. Driver's license; travel to other sites and hospital clinics may be required.
