IEC Holden is GROWING AGAIN and is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for our transit motor assembly facility in Plattsburgh, New York. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with Production, Engineering and Quality personnel to develop and execute productivity projects; continuous improvement; and the launch of new production lines within IEC Holden. The Manufacturing Engineer will perform some or all of the following duties:
Assist in setting up new production lines
Contribute to improvements in efficiency of existing production lines
Provide engineering and production support
Ensure all customer requirements are met
Establish and improve manufacturing and assembly processes and procedures
Specify equipment and facilities to support product delivery for current and future requirements
Plan, organize and control design, improve and maintain each process to meet and exceed customer
requirements while ensuring all documentation is kept current and accurate
Select, design and purchase tools as required
Prepare, update and maintain all work instructions and process documentation
Improve productivity through the application of new technologies, layout improvements, material flow improvements, error proofing.
Maintain engineering documents, drawings, specifications, change notices and project history
Continuous improvement activities (labor and material cost reduction proposals and design improvements)
Work with production employee s feedback to improve processes
Participate in all other facets of the business, as required
Do you have what it takes?
Engineering degree (Mechanical or Electrical)
Strong understanding of manufacturing principles
Understanding of quality documentation requirements
Good project management background that includes effective problem-solving skills
Experience in rotating equipment is an asset
VA/VE, Lean, 5S and Kaizen experience a plus
