Overview: Responsible for operations, quality control, quality assurance in Chemistry and Hematology Laboratory. Sixteen reports. Duties entail hiring, mentoring, scheduling, and disciplining staff. Maintain tests in control including: Hematology, Coagulation, Chemistry, Special Chemistry and some esoteric tests. Responsibilities: Maintaining daily operations. Quality control and quality assurance, This includes updating controls and SOPs. Staffing issues - scheduling, schedule changes, resolving staffing issues, investigation of anomalies in testing. Miscellaneous tasks including method validation, document control, maintaining and updating regulatory requirements, meetings, research of new methods, review of current methods for updates, report review. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or in a related science required. Master's Degree in Major chemical, physical or biological science preferred. New York State Education Department Clinical Laboratory Technologist's license required. MT (ASCP or MT (HEW) certifications preferred. Working knowledge required in all areas of the clinical laboratory being supervised. A minimum of six years of general laboratory experience and a thorough knowledge of laboratory techniques required. Options:
