Based in Plattsburgh, New York you will ensure the delivery of materials to meet purchase order requirements.
In your role you will:
Receive requisitions and contact suppliers for quotations;
Prepare purchase approvals for management approval;
Change/modify Purchase Orders in accordance with the Master Production Schedule;
Expedite suppliers to ensure delivery of purchase parts on time;
Reconcile invoices with acknowledgements for payables to suppliers;
Issue chargeback to suppliers when required (Special transport or non conforming);
Negotiate with suppliers and issue Purchase Orders for parts to be repaired;
Arrange for the return of damaged, canceled and/or obsolete goods and material;
Liaise with suppliers and other departments to obtain information pertinent to the procurement of materials or resolution of technical issues;
Represent Supply Management at meetings and work autonomously to resolve problems;
Perform other duties as assigned.
As our ideal candidate:
You hold a Bachelor's degree in a related field highly preferred; advanced experience and qualified training will be considered;
You possess a minimum of three to five (3-5) years of experience in procurement, in a purchasing role with increasing responsibility;
You have a good proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SAP as it pertains to Procurement will be considered as an asset;
Your English communication skills (written and spoken) are excellent.
Additional Information: The incumbent of this position must be able for occasional traveling domestic or international and must be able to work various shifts and overtime as required.
